We’ve all probably heard the question: “What are you thinking right now?” And probably everyone has either asked it themselves and/or been asked it. What if the answer was this picture? The picture is from the series of women’s heads. As with “Longing in Blue”, the idea was to depict the vastness, the infinity of the mind and the wondrous things that go on in everyone’s head. Don’t we all carry a unique and complex universe of feelings, thoughts, ideas, talents and possibilities in our heads? A colourful galaxy with black holes, milky ways, large and small planets and countless twinkling stars – that should adorn the next lady’s head. But there is also a longing hidden in this picture – for peaceful weightlessness, distance from everyday problems and a liberating, floating silence between the stars. By depicting it in watercolour, much in this picture is left to chance and makes it all the more unique, like everyone’s colourful galaxy in their own head.
