After retiring from business life, I thought about something that would fulfill me both mentally and emotionally. The art of painting had fascinated me since I was young, although I had no practice in it. So I started playing with acrylic paints.
A friend put me in touch with the painter Walter Lilienfein, who accepted me as his student and with whom I am still connected today. For me, painting is the little brother of meditation. It requires similar qualities such as discipline, concentration, heart and also a good eye and a steady hand.
In a variation of a Zen saying, or me:
Before painting, a landscape is a landscape.
When painting, a landscape is no longer a landscape.
After painting, the landscape is a landscape again.
